Any trials that I can get involved in?

From: Type 1 Mom - 7 years 43 weeks ago

My son and I want to be more proactive in dealing with his Type 1 diabetes. He was diagnosed April '98. He has had to deal with this disease, going through all of the ups and downs, non-compliance in the beginning having to deal with adolescence and puberty. Now he is a wonderful 24 y/o man who is tired of dealing with this. He has taken responsibility, keeping regular appointments with his endocrinologist and nutritionist, managing his glucose with the pump, yet still unable to control his glucose levels, especially at night. I would go as far as to say he is depressed, but not succumbing to inaction but motivated to take ACTION! After reading the latest news regarding the suppression of the hormone glucagon, he and I wonder,is there a way to be involved in the research, even if experimental? Does anyone have any advice or resources that we can tap?

Is this good advice?

I am a type 1 diabetic and I have been wondering the same thing!!!

I read a great book that provides an incredible amount of information about the current research that is taking place. It is called Diabetes Rising by Dan Hurley.

Have you found any resources since you posted this question?
