Hypothyroid and Pre Diabetes

From: elmas - 9 years 11 weeks ago

Its been nearly 2 years since my total thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer and I've put in about 5 kgs which is impossible to shift. Unfortunately the weight has settled around my middle which is not me. I'm a hips and bum girl. Unfortunately I have a family predisposition to Diabetes and now my own sugars are up. Apart from wiring my jaw to lose the weight I don't know what to do. I was 63kgs at my operation and am now 68kgs. I am 163cms tall, happy, healthy excerise daily and don't drink or smoke. I know this is going to be tricky... any suggestions anyone?

According to the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, about 47 million adults in the United States (almost 25 percent of the population) have metabolic syndrome, a combination of risk conditions that increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. The number of people suffering from metabolic syndrome also is on the rise.
