Posted in: Hypothyroidism.

From: justcurious - 7 years 19 weeks ago

Both of my parents and my sister have hypothyroidism. I have been checked every year for the last 10 years. Lately, I am not sure what is going on but I feel like something is off. I had a partial hysterectomy 5 yrs ago. I thought the "change" was happening (extreme night sweats) and my doc put me on a low dose of hormone late fall '10. That seemed to help until about 2 wks ago. I am now sweating very, very easily, I can sleep 8 + hrs and still very tired. The night sweats are gone but now I can walk across the room and am hot and sweating terribly. I do not have the sensation I used to where you get a sense of warmth coming over you and then, BAM you are hot. I usually get the chills even if it is 75 degrees outside so this is very odd. I am average weight, not over weight at all and my bp runs around 112 -/74 with a normal cholesterol. I called my doc due to blood tests ran in 1/11 and my FreeT 4 was .69...My TSH is a 1.89 which I know that the TSH is normal. I guess my question is did anyone else have any similar issues? Does anyone know if the Free T 4 numbe I have is normal range or is it low? There are conflicting ranges on internet. Both of my docs are on vacation for the next 2-4 weeks and I can just tell something isn't 100% right. Any words of wisdom, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
