Posted in: Hypothyroidism.

Hello all!

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in October 2010 and started Eltroxin in November. Classic lab results - high TSH, low free T4. My free T3 level has always been fine. By February 2011 all my results were nicely in the mid-normal range.

Last week I started feeling kind of unwell. I didn't know if it was just a virus or if my thyroid levels were wonky again (it took a couple of dose increases to feel well, and every time I up it, I feel awful for at least a week, then very much better than ever. Sensitive I guess.)

I saw my doctor on Monday as I was feeling anxious in the morning, with my heart racing and restlessness, then *crash* later in the day, feeling tired, lethargic, depressed.) We did the lab tests to see if perhaps I was going hyper. These were the results (I posted the normal ranges in parentheses as I'm in Canada:

March 21/2011

TSH - 1.93 (0.27 - 4.2)
T4 - 14.6 (12 - 22)
T3 - 3.63 (3.9 - 6.7)

Just to compare, my result a month earlier:

TSH - 2.03
Free T4 - 15.2
Free T3 - 4.38

So my T4 has dropped a bit, but I'm confused about my free T3. I've never had an issue with it before, and I can't imagine I'd just suddenly stop converting from T4. To be honest I'm a little freaked out. Any advice?
