Hypothyroidism and Anxieties

From: Caddycat - 4 years 3 weeks ago

what's the correlation between these two? Can anxieties itself cause TSH level to increase or higher TSH levels cause anxieties? just 3 months ago my TSH level was 2.5 and anxieties were in check as well. I've been weaning myself off of my antidepressant pills for the past year and down to almost nothing. Life was good. However, in a recent trip to the ER found that my TSH level was 4.64. not extremely high. I am under a lot of other stress right now so anxieties are escalating as well. I'm finding that I may need increase my dose of my antidepressant... too bad : ( Or should I start with fixing my dose of levothyroxine first if TSH is 4.64. Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.

Is this good advice?

Update: went to my endocrinologist and she said anxieties and stress were unlikely to elevate my TSH level and this was actually not that high to elicit any of the current parasthesia I'm currently feeling. IDK ...maybe premenopause or anxieties.
