Is this normal for hyperthyroidism?

From: Dandylion - 10 years 2 weeks ago

I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I know that it can lower your libido, but what about it making you lose interest in your partner???? I love my husband to death and it scares me that it feels like I'm losing interest (but at the same time, I'm not). I don't feel like this is how I REALLY feel, but its just how I've been feeling...I don't want to cheat and NO there is no one else I am interested in at all, I just feel like I should be alone...not as interested in him as I was like a month ago. I haven't been put on medication to control my thyroid yet...I was just wondering, is this a normal way to feel? I have depression and anxiety because of it too...I just found out about my thyroid issue in the past few months so this is all new to me. I have an appointment with an Endo next week.....thank you....

Also, all that I've been told so far based on my blood tests is that my T4 is normal but my TSH is high...I am new to all of this.

Is this good advice?

High TSH shows HYPOtyhroid not hyper. Yes, all of what you describe can be related to a thyroid condition, hyper or hypo, symptoms do overlap. Make sure that you EDUCATE YOURSELF AND YOUR HUSBAND so you both have a general understanding of what is going on with you and what you are going through. It is a good step to go see an endo. a good book is The Thyroid Solution by Ridha Arem M.D. Hang in there! when you get this under control, things change. keep us informed
