About surgery for multinodual goiter

From: Opal - 7 years 26 weeks ago

When I first found out I have a multi-nodual goiter - I was put on tapazole/methmazole - up to 20mgs/day now and still not within optimum levels of hormone - so the endo's now talking about the raidoactive iodine pill(s)
I asked him why, with all the advances in laser surgery, do they not use a laser to "zap" the nodules that are in there.
He said, they just don't do that. I actually don't trust him enough to ask if he'd like to be the first.
If surgeons can use lasers to work on eyes.. why not the thyroid?
