After parathyroidectomy

From: Here in Wisconsin - 2 years 37 weeks ago

I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, had surgery and was found to have 4-gland hyperplasia, 3 glands were removed and for 10 days felt like ( So this is what life is supposed to feel like!) then went into afib , never had before, and labs showed now I was hyPERthyroid which must have caused the afib. Before I was hyPO thyroid. Then the happiness also stopped. So now am cutting down on my thyroid meds and am gaining weight!!! I thought HYPER thyroid meant weight loss! My PTH is now going up again out of normal range which means I probably will have to have surgery again. I don’t really think I’m eating differently then before. Just so frustrating. Anyone else go down this road??

Is this good advice?

I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism and had surgery 2 years ago. I had 2 glands removed and at first felt like new money then immediately after I started gaining weight. Before surgery I was 157lbs and now I am 176lbs and can't loose the weight. Before the surgery I asked the Dr. would this cause me to gain weight and he said no. I have never weighed this much and cant' seem to loose. What can I do? I take labs test every 4 months and all test all come back normal but I still have fatigue but not as bad. I need to return back to my normal weight. What can I do?
