Had a failed parathyroid operation still confused

From: SMuller - 12 years 10 weeks ago

I am a 56 year old female. In 2005 I had hyperparathyroidism. I also had noduled on my thyroid and had half of my thyroid out. I had a general surgeon do my operation which was a mistake. He failed to find the bad parathyroid. He removed one good parathyroid so I have three left. I have a brother that also had this disease. I had a blood test in 2008 and my calcium is up again to 10.5, today it is 10.6 my pth is normal. I have had many blood tests since my first operation and my calcium goes up and down but it is always high. I have bad osteoporosis for my age, I also am getting alot of heart palpataions lately I have slow digestion and bad acid reflux but I control it by diet, very bland diet, if I eat something that brings on acid reflux I have it so bad I throw up in the middle of the night. I get upset very easily. I have been to many dr's as I feel I need an operation but one dr had me waiting and told me that he wants to wait until my calcium gets higher or I have kidney stones. (bad advice) Another dr told me that I have high calcium and some people just have high calcium in their systems. My family thinks I am crazy and that nothing is wrong with me. I am beginning to wonder if I am. My question is where do I go from here?

I am shocked to find your post from 33 weeks ago with only one response, but what a good response it was!

I recently had a MIRP surgery performed by Dr. James Norman. I was wondering what your outcome has been regarding your diagnosis and if there are any questions you would like to ask me?

Don't let ANYONE tell you that you are crazy. Good grief, you are SICK ; not crazy! Anyone with a calcium level of 10+ is sick! My doctors had not recognized my symptoms for almost 20 years.

PLEASE write!
