Could I have Hashimoto?

From: AshLey2 - 3 years 49 weeks ago

Hi! First of all, I'd like to start with a little background information. I'm a 27 year old female with an extensive family history of thyroid disease. My father has hypothyroidism, I have two aunts with hypothyroidism, one who actually had her thyroid removed, and a sister with hashimoto. For the past four months I've been battling some pretty troubling symptoms. It began with chest pain that sent me to the ER. I had an EKG, and while in the ER, the doctor checked my thyroid levels. All the tests came back fine. The doctor referred me to a cardiologist, just to be sure. The cardiologist did an echo, chest X-ray, and a stress test. All of which, thank God, came back great as well. I have sense talked with my family doctor about other symptoms I've been having... Chronic headaches, unexplained weight gain (I have always been a size 4-6 and around 135 lbs and I now am a size 8-10 weighing in around 170 lbs), hand and feet numbness... sometimes I feel like I'm choking. I feel very dizzy and somewhat confused quite often. I still have some chest pain, but not as much as I use to. I have muscle weakness, and I always feel very tired, but I have trouble getting to sleep. My general doctor ran a couple tests for my thyroid, I can't remember the exact ones, but he said they were within normal range. He wrote my symptoms off as anxiety, which I could accept... if I was anxious. I'm not. Nor am I depressed. I'm more than ready to feel normal again! My question is this, does this sound like anyone else's experience, and if so, has anyone else had trouble getting it diagnosed?

Is this good advice?

I'd also like to add that I have been having irregular menstrul cycles. My cycle was beginning around the 1st of the month. Last month I started on the 8th, and this month I still haven't started. It's the 11th. I've taken two pregnancy tests. Both were negative. I've also had a lot of back pain and neck pain with my headaches. When you have so many symptoms, it's hard to keep track of them all. Please give me your input on this...
