Post baby and hashi!

From: ruger4 - 28 weeks 6 days ago

Hoping I'm not alone! Had my baby almost 3 months ago, I am breastfeeding and having such a difficult time losing weight :( I'm very active. I walk/run 4 miles a day and am on the raw food diet. It's taken me 4 weeks to lose 2 pounds. So disappointing! Has anyone else gone through this? I'm going crazy! Is this something I should bring to my doctors attention?

Are you diagnosed Hashi or Hypo? Has your hair thinned after birth?

Diagnosed first hypo and never told until 1 year ago that I am hashi. My hair has not thinned out that I've noticed.

Does hair fall out due to a problem?

Yes, the hair thinning or falling out is usually the result of nutrient deficiencies and hormonal imbalance (not just the thyroid hormones). First, are your breastfeeding? This will affect what supplements you take and how much. Also, right away in my practice I recommend selenium and serrapeptase for inflammation and reduction of antibodies, as well as going off gluten. Don't scream at me lol, but gluten over time destroys the thyroid protein as well as intestinal lining, opening you up to many chronic problems. You said you are on a raw food diet, so you probably don't eat bread or pasta, but watch out for soy (use liquid aminos instead) and any other seasoning with hidden gluten (yeast extract, for example). I won't go into any more until I know if you are nursing right now... Even if your diet is good you may want to consider a supplement to heal the intestinal lining. With the raw food diet sometimes the foods can brush against the lining and cause inflammation and permeations.
