Hashimoto's & Depression

From: lindseyinamerica - 2 years 10 weeks ago

Hi Everyone!

I always read that people struggle with all these symptoms, as did I, including depression, but once they are diagnosed with Hashimoto's then it helps a lot. Well, I have known I had Hashimoto's for 8 years now since I was 22, and am still struggling with depression. Usually I struggle with it when my TSH is off, but now my TSH is great (.87) and I am having a lot of symptoms. I brought them to a new doctor, an Osteopathic Doctor, and then realized my symptoms were exactly like ones of depression. I asked for a mild anti-depressant because I don't know what else to do and wonder if it is a different chemical imbalance in my mind. I am naturally a happy and joyful person, and can tell when these feelings seem irrational and "controlled" by something else.

Any thoughts?

Is this good advice?

Hi , I have Hashimoto's disease. I got diagnosed correctly finally this past December. My Dr told me there was nothing I could do besides take Levothyroxine forever and deal with being heavier. He said no diet change or supplement regiment would help at all. He was so wrong. Going Gluten-free and Paleo mixed with taking my all natural supplements made a world of diffrence. If you would like to know more pkease message me. I hope I was helpful.
