High TSH levels and effects on baby

From: Nervousmom - 8 years 7 weeks ago

My TSH levels at 8 weeks pregnant were 4.19, and now at 12 weeks the TSH levels are 3.77. I am aware that these levels are higher than the recommended TSH levels of <2.5, however will this have an impact on the cognitive and developmental skills of my baby?

Many thanks

Is this good advice?

I too have been doing some research on the subject and have just read on several accounts recently that its important to get the levels as close to the lower (recommended) numbers as possible for the sake of the baby's health. I would try your best not to stress yourself over this, your TSH is not way out of range, but yes, talk to your doctor or get a second opinion, may need a little adjustment.
