Hashimoto's and Nodules

From: NotoriousTHY - 1 year 51 weeks ago

I've been on a quest to figure out what's wrong with me for about 6 months now. I started feeling various symptoms a while back. Every time I conducted a search, it lead me to Hypothyroidism. Back in December of last year, I had my thyroid tested. My levels were normal. My symptoms however seemed to get worse since then. Especially my menstrual cycle. I went to different doctors to rule other things out. So far nothing else seems to be causing my irregular bleeding and heavy bleeding. I was starting to think maybe I'm crazy.

Last week, I noticed a lump in my neck. I made an appointment with an endocrinologist. I had the appt today and sure enough I have a 1" nodule on my thyroid. I am having it biopsied this coming tuesday. The doctor said according to the sonogram, he did not see anything that would leave him to believe it was cancer, however he has to check.

Anyway, has anyone here had symptoms with normal levels and a nodule? I'm leaning towards Hashimoto's. It runs in my family. My grandmother and two of my aunts have it. Recently my brother was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I don't think he got an antibody test just yet. I think it's safe to assume I have it. If so, when will they start to treat it? I feel symptoms but my levels seem ok. My doctor sent me to get labs he's testing the following:
TSH
Free T4
Thyroglobulin Antibody
Thyroperoxidase Antibody TPO
Plus prolactin
Dheas/Fsh
Vit d
And other hormones and metabolic.

Are these the correct tests?
