Son's high TSH with normal fT4 levels

From: CHAPPLEJ - 2 years 40 weeks ago

My son is 21 and special needs - global delay, dyspraxia, speech and language. I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis and now self treat after 30 yrs of levo and undertreatment.
My sons TSH is 6.83 and has TPO of 194. Doc and endo dont want to treat but want to use watch and wait approach which I dont agree with. This has been going on for several years and docs will not listen to us. I am seeing doc next week due to this latest TSH rise and am seeing doc in a separate session as it is difficult to discuss these things in just a 10 minute slot. NICE Guidelines in UK do not generally recommend treatment or the use of natural dessicated thyroid. Any advice welcome. I act on my
son's behalf.
