Hashimoto's, pregnancy & prenatal vitamins

From: Kateaugust8 - 5 years 26 weeks ago

I'm new to this support group. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's about 4 years ago. My husband and I are trying to start a family and I've just started fertility treatments. Does anyone have any advice about prenatal vitamins with or without iodine? I've read iodine supplementation is bad for the thyroid antibodies, but I've also read it's important to have iodine in a prenatal vitamin for the development of the baby. I'm not sure what to do and my doctors don't seem to be addressing this. Any suggestions appreciated!

I've been trying to find a prenatal vitamin that is iodine-free as well as gluten, soy and dairy free.

Is this good advice?

The Honest Company Once Daily Prenatal is iodine-free (their Whole Food prenatal contains iodine, so make sure to order the Once Daily version of their prenatal, which does not have any iodine). I really like these vitamins, they have a good content for all essential vitamins and minerals, and do not make me nauseous. The pills are a little big, but I've gotten used to them. I believe they are also gluten, soy and dairy free, but please check the label before ordering.
