unknown disorder

From: jennifer226 - 5 years 12 weeks ago

10 years ago I became paralyzed from the waist down. I was diagnosed with Gillian Barre syndrome and was treated and recovered but it happened again 3 times again after. It hasn't happened again for the past four years but in the past two years I have been having all the signs of hypothyroidism but the test all come back normal. I have gained 40 pounds but hardly eat. I'm losing hair to the point of being almost bald. I have strange breakouts and dry patches. But the tiredness is the most devastating problem of all. I sleep anywhere from 12 to 24 hours straight without waking up and still am tired when I do. I also get constipation my sex drive is nonexistent and I feel like I have a cold all the time (minus the coughing and sneezing). In on of the ultra sounds they found a node on the thyroid gland but the doctor still won't prescribe anything. I've been on vitamin supplements b and d for years but they come back low often. I'm allergic to iodine so I can never take a supplement for it. I have seen a bunch of doctors but they all give up after awhile and then refer me to someone else who runs all the same tests and eventually gives up to. I live in Pennsylvania and I'm losing hope! I've been to doctors as far away as Arizona with no answers. If anyone else has been through this and knows of tests that may help give me answers I'm willing to try anything. I'm 34 years old and have been struggling for to many years. I can't even work due to the exhaustion and I can't get disability benefits because I have no diagnosis. I just wanted to feel better and be able to feel normal!!
