Hashimoto's--is hair loss related to drop in TSH?

From: melsone - 3 years 44 weeks ago

Hi Everyone. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 10 years ago, and I have been on levothyroxine ever since and have been stable. I was seeing my endocrinologist every six months to get tested, but she moved out of the state last year, so my regular doctor took over my thyroid care. I recently saw my regular doctor because I have been losing a lot of hair in recent months. In November, my TSH was 3.610. My doctor tested it last week, and it was 1.480. I have never had a big drop in TSH like that, but my doctor says it is fine (she also did other thyroid blood tests, and everything came back normal) because it is within normal range. But my hair keeps coming out in the shower, and I wonder if it could be my thyroid? Does anyone have any thoughts? Is it normal for TSH to drop so much in just a few months? I also had my ferritin level tested, by the way, and it was fine. Thanks for your input!
