Does removal of the Thyroid "Cure" Hashimotos??

From: Overcomer1 - 3 years 35 weeks ago

I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer as well as Hashimotos approximately 2 months ago. I had my Thyroid removed 2 weeks ago and had my follow up with my Endocrinologist yesterday. At this appointment I asked him about the Hasimotos and he said I was "Cured" since the thyroid is gone. I dont completely understand all this since I am so newly diagnosed. I am getting ready to go through the Radioactive Iodine treatments and I just want to know what all I am dealing with and if Hashimotos is truly healed or if it is still something I need to worry about. I appreciate any help and insight you can give! Thanks and have a blessed day :)
