TECHNIQUE: 2-D grayscale imaging and color Doppler imaging of the thyroid
performed.
FINDINGS:
The RIGHT lobe of thyroid is 1.6 x 1.8 x 5.5 cm and has a homogeneous
echotexture. There is a tiny 3 x 2 x 2 mm mixed echogenicity lesion in the lower
pole consistent with a tiny colloid cyst. No other dominant cysts or solid
masses on the RIGHT.
The LEFT lobe of thyroid is 1.3 x 1.7 x 4.6 cm and has a homogeneous
echotexture. The anterior medial aspect there is an 8 x 4 x 10 mm solid nodule.
In the lateral mid pole there is a 4 x 3 x 5 mm solid nodule.
The thyroid isthmus is thickened at 5 mm. No focal cysts or solid masses in the
isthmus.
IMPRESSION:
IMPRESSION:
1. Bilateral thyroid lesions as described above. Recommend ultrasound-guided FNA
biopsy of the 1 cm lesion in the anterior medial aspect LEFT lobe of the
thyroid.
