Neck Stangulation Sensation

From: ClairelyHateMyT... - 2 years 38 weeks ago

I've been hyperthyroid with Graves' for about 2 years now and just got diagnosed with hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's within the last 4 months. My endo thinks that my thyroid is going into remission to she took me off all of my thyroid drugs (Tapazole and Synthroid). My levels are in the perfect in the healthy/normal person range. A week ago, I had to go to the E.R. For an idiopathic anaphylactic attack which I think is due to an allergy to Methimazole, but that's another story. After that day, my thyroid has constantly been enlarged and puts pressure on my esophagus. It's annoying and feels like I'm being strangled. Benadryl helps for the 1st 2 hours or so but then it won't help. I'm not really looking into radiation or a thyroidectomy just yet, but it's seems like a more appealing option than dealing with a whole host of symptoms that my thyroid brings on. Have any of you dealt with this problem? How did it get resolved? Thanks!
