Enlarged thyroid, throat tightness and throat spasm

From: zombiegrl - 2 years 29 weeks ago

I'm new to the group and I want to start out by saying HI! I have a few questions.. I had my thyroid checked (an ultrasound and a test where I had to swallow a radio active pill and have a scan done) about 5 years ago.. It showed that my thyroid was enlarged. I had these tests done because I was having throat discomfort that felt like a fullness in my throat and a tight, pulling feeling. I also have a hiatal hernia and GERD for which I am currently taking 40 mg of omeprazole daily. I have been on these now for 5 years. Now the feeling is back and worse... I feel like I have a turtleneck on and it feels like my throat is spasming and a fluttery feeling, where it makes me cough. SOmetimes it feels like a pinch in my throat where my thyroid is. I do have an axienty disorder and I'm sure the more I think about it the worse it is but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the flutter, spasm feeling where there thyroid is?
