Low DHEA Levels (24 yr old female w/ severe fatigue)

From: tlgeorge - 5 years 24 weeks ago

Hi all, I'm a longtime sufferer of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I'm currently 24 and I've felt extreme fatigue since I was 10. I've tried a number of medications, gone to many different specialists, and have had a few sleep studies. Nothing has really make a difference or given me any answers. I finally went to a naturopathic doctor who did a saliva-based hormone test. I got the results back today and my DHEA levels are quite low. I know that adrenal fatigue can be caused by chronic stress, which I definitely experienced when I was young. But does anyone know of any other causes of extremely low DHEA levels? I suspect my ND will put me on DHEA supplements when I speak with her at our next appointment. Thank you!
