At a fork in the road

From: smfreder - 6 years 45 weeks ago

Hi, I'm a 26 year old female with uncontrollable acne. I have tried everything over the counter, old wives tales, prescription strenth and nothing seems to work for my acne. I had acne as a teen but it was different then the acne I have now. Also when I was about 16-17 I began to grow excessive hair on my abdomen- it started off as just like a happy trail like men get and as I grew older I'm now getting darker hair over the rest of my abdomen, on my butt, the small of my back, and I have pubic hair growing down the inner side of my thighs now. At the same time the excessive hair growth started I also started noticing that my deoderant wasn't working- I tried mens deoderant which ended up not working before going to a Dermatologist who diagnosed me with adult acne, Hyperhydrosis, and Hypertrichosis. I'm just wondering if there is some hidden underlying condition connecting all of these conditions I have and that maybe why I can't find a treatment or cure for my acne. I'm really desperate here to find out if there is something else that might work before I exhaust all options and try Accutane. Thanks. Oh I don't know if it's worth mentioning but I also have significant recurring/constant folliculitis on my bottom.

Is this good advice?

Oh by the way the reason I'm posting on endocrineweb is because my gynecologist said I should have my thyroid checked out and talk to an endocrinologist.
