IV Iodine Allergy Query

From: The Singer - 11 years 47 weeks ago

I had a Fine Needle Biopsy yesterday (20th Nov 2009) - I have a cold nodule on the left of my Thyroid which was found incidently after I had an MRI on my neck. I get the results back this coming Wednesday, 25th Nov 2009,....I am allergic to IV Iodine (This was discovered after I had a routine Kidney Stone Check when I was 25yrs old - I am now 46 yrs old)and I went into anaphalactic shock and nearly died!
1. Could this radioactive injection of Iodine have caused this cold nodule 21 yrs later?
2. Are the IV Iodine and the Iodine they treat people with after surgery (to get rid of any cancer cells missed) the same stuff?

I've already survived Endometrial Cancer last year (I had a Full Hysterectomy - but no radiation therapy) so I am determined to survive this too!
