Diabetes Type 1 and Thyroid Cancer

From: kcroyals09 - 8 years 10 weeks ago

My sister was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 11. Almost 15 years later she was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer (don't know what kind exactly but she had her thyroid removed along with 19 lymph nodes). She has been cancer free for two years now! But even with synthroid (which is always fluctuating) she is just not herself. Has anybody out there experienced multiple autoimmune disorders? My sister also has diabetic neuropathy and a rare skin disease (forgot the very long name of this one too) that is turning her skin on her feet (growing up her leg) into brown scar tissue. I honestly don't know what I'm asking for besides more information or books/sites I can do more research on. I'm sure she has done it all but are there things she should be asking the doctor to check? Alternatives to gabapentin and synthroid? Anything she can do/take for her energy level? Any natural alternatives? Vitamins/minerals she should be taking with the meds or in general. Thanks for any feed back!
