About John Kennedy MD
John W. Kennedy, MD, is both chief medical officer of the American Medical Group Association (AMGA), and president of the AMGA Foundation.
Prior to joining the American Medical Group Association, Dr. Kennedy served as division director of endocrinology at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pennsylvania, where he led the clinical, education, research, and quality program development, and expansion of the health system.
Dr. Kennedy is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He received his medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed an internal medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a fellowship in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism at the Joslin Diabetes Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Kennedy graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry.
