About Helen Garey MPH
Helen Garey, MPH, is a science/consultant writer for Columbia University Medical Center, where she participates in weekly discussions with the communications and media relations teams about web and magazine content, as well as, media strategy.
In 2015, Ms. Garey assisted in the relaunch for New York University Langone Medical Center website for which she developed content for more than 50 online disease guides. Some of these guides focused on endocrine disorders, such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia, congenital hypothyroidism, type 2 diabetes in children, Graves’ disease, obesity, and polycystic ovary syndrome in adolescents.
In addition to Columbia and NYU Langone, recent clients have included Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, Northwell Health, and Pfizer Customer Solutions.
She has a Master of Public Health degree in health policy from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts degree in professional writing from Carnegie Mellon University.
