Cost effectiveness of preoperative sestamibi scanning for patents with primary hyperparathyroidism is solely dependent upon the surgeon's choice of operative procedure.

This study was presented at the 1997 Annual Meeting of the American College of Surgeons. The manuscript was published in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons 1998; 186:293-304.
