my daughter which is 6 was diagnosed nov of 09. You never know if you are going to have a good day or bad day its ALWAYS like a rollercoaster ride. WATCH yor diet, talk to your endo and look into the pump. Good luck and God bless!

I got my dia on 1/2/09 at 31 years old!

Are you counting carbs?
What kind of insulin do you take?
Are you MDI or on a pump.
Do you keep a log book?
Are your numbers goodxwhen you wake in the am?

If my numbers start to go out of wack I resort back to the beginning. I write everything down. I do little test to be sure my insulin to carb ratio is right. It has changed a few times for me in the last two years.

My "honeymoon" phase lasted 11 months. My insulin/card went from being 1:30 to 1:45 to now "landing" on 1:15. I increased my lantus by 1 unit a bit into this current winter (Maine) insulin requirements can canged with the seasons too. But for my it was very little.
