Does it require a local or general anesthesia for the fine needle aspiration test?

Lorrow, my doc just gave my neck a shot of Novocaine, like my dentist does before he drills. Only, the fine needle aspiration was WAY less painful than a trip to the dentist. I was awake the whole time. I barely felt it. I've had bee and wasp stings that hurt much worse. Believe me, I'm a big baby when it comes to pain, and this was nothing.

Don't worry.
