I have been on 1 grain of Armour thyroid for about a month. I am starting to feel normal again (more energy, clearer minded, reduced sinus allergies, etc.)! My numbers are very good now so Dr. is keeping me on this dose. PROBLEM IS: about a week after starting Armour I noticed my hair was falling out significantly. I have probably lost 30-50% of my hair volume in the past month.

My QUESTION IS: Will my body become accustomed to Armour, quit loosing hair and regrow the lost hair? I am hoping this is the case, because I don't want to go back to the debilitating exhaustion, foggy brain and allergies that were plaguing me prior to Armour. Has any one else started loosing hair after beginning Armour? If so, did their body adjust to the thyroid and eventually regrow hair? How long for the switch to take place? If we are talking many months, I may be bald before the switch occurs....

In the meantime my Dr. has me taking13,600mcg Biotin twice a day supplement which I started about 4 days ago. Any other suggestions to halt the hair loss and regrow hair that has worked for others are welcomed!

Thank you for reading and responding if you can!

Hi there. How are you feeling now on the Armour? I started a week ago tomorrow. Was on Synthroid or Levothyroxine for about six years and although numbers were normal doc listened to HOW I felt and suggested Armour. Synthroid and Levo made my hair fall out. Lost half the volume. Haven't noticed any yet on Armour...but worried about it. My hair is finally back to a new normal. How is yours doing and how do you feel?

It's been almost 10 weeks since my last post. I am still loosing more hair than normal but not quite at the same alarming rate. It is about half what I was losing before but still much more than I was losing before starting thyroid treatment.

Still wondering if anyone can tell me when I might start reg rowing hair...

DexNLuc, can you please share if your hair started growing back. I've had several things happen at once and can't tell which is the sole factor for my hair falling out this last year..... I got on Armour after being on Synthyroid for years with no problem; my naturopath prescribed testosterone which I took for a year and realized the mistake she made; I changed compounding pharmacy for Bhrt. Which one is the culprit I don't know, but I've lost a solid 50% of my hair and no end in sight. I fear changing back to synthyroid might cause hair loss to get worse. Not sure if I should wait it out. Stopped taking testosterone, on all kinds of supplements for hair growth, found a better pharmacy for Bhrt. I only wonder if I should get off the Armour????
