weight

From: colleen63 - 2 years 28 weeks ago

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism after finishing chemo & radiation. I gained 40 lbs in 4 months.
I've been seeing a dietician and exercising and can't lose any weight. Does anyone else have this problem and is it possible to ever lose the weight?

Hi,

Have you seen an Endocrinologist and are you on medicine for your Thyroid? I would imagine you are and are just asking if when on medicine for hypothyroid can you loose.

I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. My Endocrinologist said most people loose weight with proper thyroid medication treatment, but also with proper diet and lots of exercise.

I belong to "SparkPeople.com" It is a free online diet/Weight loss/gain site. I've been a member for a year and I have found the site to be extremely educational and supportive. I belong to a Thyroid /weight loss/gain forum that has helped me tremendously. You can develop good online friendships on many forums, there. They have tons of different forums for many things. They all involve weight loss or gain issues. You can make friends and get a lot of support to loose weight. They also have meal plans you can use. They have their own, but you can also choose your own foods. They have an exercise section that tracks your calories, distance or types of energy you have used. Why don't you look at it and see if you like it? It will help you loose.

Good luck!
