I had hyperthyroidism over 20 years ago and was treated with radioactive iodine. I take synthroid to replace the hormone. I have had several times when my synthroid needs to be adjusted up or down. Usually my numbers are low and they decrease the amount. My normal has always been on the upper side of the normal range. Anyway this is when I feel the best. Can you explain how the hormone works. If my numbers are low why would they decrease the amount of synthroid? Does taking more make me more hypo or hyper? Im confused. Thanks
