Been having problems with adrenal glands

From: tdrake - 42 weeks 5 days ago

I have a problem of heart palpations, sweats, cold feet, bowel problems. I also have panic attack syndrome for years, but have had not much problems right now. It started around a year ago with the shingles, they misdiagnosed in E.R. I thought i was having a heart attack. Nothing I ever felt before. It has now progressed. I am now being checked for a tumor in the adrenal glands, and possible anywhere where it could travel. Now they have were missing something from lab that kaiser uses, far from where i live, so my second blood test not back. The first showed (metanephrines) a sign of pheochromocytomas. I also get a feeling of shocks in the heart area across my chest, i have low vitimin D. Anyone out there have this. sincerly linda

I'm right there with you. I have chills w/o fever at least 4 times a day with shivering; facial flushing with itching; chest pain w/pressure; shortness of breath. My doc thinks it is some sort of adrenal problem and is sending me to an endocrinologist. I went a year ago when my symptons were minor. They are getting worse. Sounds like you are going through the mill with lab work and tests. They have to eliminate a million things that it could be before they treat you. Of course, you would have something out of the ordinary....you aren't alone. Hang in there and keep posting.

Unrelated to my role at EndocrineWeb, I had similar problems and was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. It started by my going to the ER with chest pain, acid reflux, bad inestinal problems, and low calcium and vitamin d. definitely pursue the adrenaline angle and get a second opinion, but it can't hurt to have a gastro test you for the celiac enzymes. This site has great info on celiac disease: www.celiac.com.

Good luck and let the community know what you discover, the more we share the better off we all are.

This is what is going on with hubby. We went to the ER and they did a CAT scan and sure enough there was a mass on his right adrenal gland. He is suffering from panic attacks and never had those before and instead of our doctor checking him out fully he just handed him a script for Atavan!!! I am so angry because all of these months now there's actually been something wrong with him and NOT in his head.
he's also done a lot of sweating and now is depressed over the entire thing.
Hope they do a cat scan for you!!

I started with constipation a month ago and the muscle twitches, pain, sharp pain in toes, knife pain in legs, dull pain near bones of arms, stiffness, numbness and tingling in face. Not sleepin well with all of this going on all night so lots of fatique. I have goiters but last numbers looked good. About a week or 2 ago I started having chills and feeling cold to the point of turning up the heat and going back to bed with coat on. Sometimes it took hours to warm up. Body temp running around 96. Last night was the first time I noticed the sweating along with the chills. It is all very scary. My blood tested low in vit D a year ago and since I have taken it faithfully but calcium constipates me so bad, I can't take it effectively. Now I wonder is it my thyroid, adrenals, or pituitary? advice?
