Clinical trials actively help to improve the medical care of people with type 2 diabetes (sometimes called type 2 diabetes mellitus). Some research studies evaluate prevention and control of this endocrine system-related disease and improve patient quality of life. Other trials evaluate how type 2 diabetes affects other body systems, its relationship to other diseases, and advances in diagnostic and patient monitoring tools.
